    3. GEG Mission The Goizueta Energy Group exists to create, satisfy, and preserve interest in traditional and sustainable global energy markets and resources.

    5. Why Energy?
      • 5 of the top 10 Fortune 500 companies are energy related.
      • The US consumes 21 million barrels of oil per day.
      • The energy industry spans the entire world and indirectly or directly influences most economies.
      • A shift from the “oil age” is beginning which will create new opportunities and markets.
    6. Need for GEG
      • Student interest in energy is not met in the classroom.
      • While major energy companies do not recruit undergrads from Goizueta, students may wish to enter energy groups at investment banks or seek energy related positions outside of the career center.
      • Energy plays an ever increasingly important role in current geopolitical and economic development.
      • All Goizueta students should have the opportunity to use GEG as a means to learn about and express solutions for the world’s impending energy demands.

    8. Long Term Goals
      • Increase awareness of Goizueta to major energy companies for future recruitment of undergrads.
      • Host key industry speakers.
      • Make visits to area energy related facilities.
      • Establish a lasting awareness of future energy demands and impacts on the global level.
