What is Hypnosis?

Truths and Myths about Hypnosis <ul><li>Myths: </li></ul><ul><li>- When people are under hypnosis, they are in deep sleep. </li></ul><ul><li>- During hypnosis, the person loses control. </li></ul><ul><li>-The therapist can convince you of doing embarrassing </li></ul><ul><li>things.. </li></ul><ul><li>After hypnosis, the person does not remember anything </li></ul><ul><li>that happened. </li></ul><ul><li>Truths: </li></ul><ul><li>- Relaxation is an essential part during the hypnosis session. </li></ul><ul><li>People remember everything said and everything that </li></ul><ul><li>happened. </li></ul><ul><li>- Nobody can be forced to do anything against their will. </li></ul>

Introducción Hipnosis <ul><li>Hypnosis is a mental, emotional, and physical healing method that has been used for millions of years by buddhists, hindus, people who practice yoga, and nowadays by doctors, dentists, and psychotherapists. </li></ul><ul><li>At the present time, hypnosis is recognized by the scientific community as an important healing tool. </li></ul><ul><li>The practice of hypnosis can change your behavior, so in that way habits can be changed and your consciousness can be stimulated to remember forgotten events, remove pain, eliminate shyness, fears, phobias and depression. . </li></ul>

Hypnosis Clinical hypnosis is a mental state of great concentration in which the external stimulus are disregarded and the suggestions become more effective. <ul><li>The objective of clinical hypnosis is to help patients use the potential of their subconscious. </li></ul><ul><li>In day to day life, we have experimented hypnotic events, in which are natural events of the </li></ul><ul><li>consciousness and can be used to be given instructions to the mind and body. </li></ul><ul><li>In the hypnotic trance, everything is canalized to accomplish the desired objective. </li></ul><ul><li>Under hypnosis, the therapist do suggestions that have even more influence than in normal </li></ul><ul><li>conditions. </li></ul><ul><li>Such suggestions can be generated by an hypnotizer or can be autoadministered </li></ul><ul><li>(autosuggestion) </li></ul>

Normally we are more less aware, but getting what is happening around us. If we learn to ‘’reduce’’ the difuse attention (the one that directs itself to the environment) to the time we increase the internal attention ( the one that directs itself to our own thinking) we will get a state of ‘’superconcentration’’ directed exactly towards those contents that interest us. </li></ul>The hypnotherapist can not force you to do anything against your will or that may threat your normal pattern of behavior.
