    • Online Printing Services – Kodak on the Verge of Bankruptcy
    • It’s an end for an era for Eastman Kodak. Being a self-proclaimed photographer with no real knowledge about photography’s technicality, it is depressing to know that a company that almost everyone grows old with is in the verge of bankruptcy. Could this be the end of the photography pioneer? For me, this revelation conveys a loud and clear message to me comparable to brochure printing or catalog printing.
    • Way back 1888; Kodak introduced to the world the first consumer camera. News had it that the embattled company lost more than half of their assets had reportedly hired a law firm that handles well bankruptcy cases. But the bankruptcy rumors was immediately denied by Kodak by stating that the company is still abreast in settling their liabilitiesand still finding ways to undo the current situation that Kodak had plunged in.
    • As the photography word started to evolved, Kodak wasn’t able to go with it which resulted to struggling profit since last 2007.
    • In an attempt to save the company into a sudden dive, Kodak find an alternative by selling its digital imaging patents which has an estimated value of $ 2 billion dollars. The hiring of Lazard, an investment bank will help Kodak to try other alternatives.
    • It is comforting to know that a business analyst had commented that recovery from bankruptcy is possible. Knowing how valuable Kodak’s portfolios are, selling them will generate large sum of money. This is where Lazard role will be needed most; as their advice will guarantee will either opens new possibilities for Kodak’s patents as a lucrative assets or it can be one way around.
    • This reminds me of Nortel, where news about the success of its patent sale was buzzing via net like an online printing services. It had been reported that Nortel acquired $ 4.5 billion dollars in their patent sale. And this had been possible with the help of Lazard. Other similar story was shared by Motorola when Google Inc. buys its patent portfolio for $ 12.5 billion dollars.
    • Contrary to the fact, some business analysts and experts had been open by saying that filling for bankruptcy may actually help the dying company to possibly recover as it boosts patent sale. For layman’s term and for the benefit of other people who just like me had no in-depth knowledge about business terminologies will put it this way: sometimes being utterly honest can do something good, which is indeed very true in everyone’s mundane life.
