  • 14. Slidesa still- image/photograph that is protected by glass or cardboard frame.
  • 15. 2 forms:Standard slide- 3 ¼ inches by 4 inches.Miniature slides- 2 by 2 inches.
  • 16. Filmstrips (Film slides/slide films)Is a series of still-pictures.One strip may consist of 14-70 frames, usually 35- 40 frames.Cannot be repaired.There are sound film strips.
  • 17. TransparenciesTransparent sheets (acetate) projected with OHP.Can be colored/ simple ink.7 ½ by 9 inches (19 by 23 cm).
  • 18. Slides, filmstrips and transparencies are unpopular nowadays.But libraries still collect these types of materials, because of the valuable information it contained.
  • 19. Motion pictures/filmsPresent moving and dynamic images.Before, by reels presented with projector.Now, in VCD/DVD form with the use of VCD/DVD players.
  • 20. USESEducational information.The subject can be taught with detail and clarity.Motivational force.Easy to transport and use.Interesting.
  • 21. LIMITATIONSFor slides, filmstrips, transparencies, not excessive use.For slides and filmstrips, lacks audition.Commercially unavailable (slides, filmstrips, OHP)Preservation and storage problem.
