3. 3. The Program and its Goal

HELP ME GROW is a program currently funded by the Children and Families Commission of Orange County. This program has a toll free line as an access point for developmental services in Orange County.
    4. 4. Its main focuses are:
    5. 5. Connecting children birth through 5 years of age and their families that have concerns about their child’s learning, behavior or development with resources and supports in the community
    6. 6. Builds a network by developing positive relationships with community providers and maintaining an updated developmental/behavioral
    7. 7. Identifies gaps and barriers to children and families receiving services by conducting community outreach, care coordination and follow-up calls with families
    8. 8. Scaffolding is utilized to train the community, providers, residents and fellows on the use of the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) and ASQ: Social Emotional

Community Need
At CHOC, they are committed to taking a leadership role in ensuring the health and well-being of children and their families living in Orange County. They offer award winning programs and services that promote health and well-being to children as they grow from birth through childhood and adolescence to adulthood.
CHOC fits community needs due to the fact that it is not specialized on only one health problem and neither do they focus on only one type of program.
9. 9. Continued Community Need

CHOC considers the impact on others such as the patient and its family when doctors have to explicate their diagnosis and therefore, they try to explain or interpret the drawn inferences based on the interpretations on the series of studies done.
    10. 10. CHOC also has Pediatric Specialties, different units of health, patient and family support services, Children’s Specialty Centers, medical advice, and professional programs. These services rendered, are available to the community so that whenever needed the can depend on them.
    11. 11. CHOC’s providers must be careful with their information making sure that it is not fallacious but prior to providing the information they must do substantive research in order to synthesize the results.

CHOC’s Appeal
CHOC’s appeal is saving children's life's because CHOC puts children first.
Not only do they focus on putting children first but their families as well.
Providing treatments and necessities to children in everyday life is their priority because they want to see and hear how that child along with their families push away the struggle.
12. 12. CHOC involved in CT, CR, and CA!!!

This program promotes critical thinking in the sense that first try to assess the problem and analyze it. Then they follow any evidence to where it may lead so that they can finally make an evaluation. Critical reading is utilized because of all the reading and research that they have to do in order to come up with an evaluation. Finally, critical action is always applied here because whenever they find out something in the critical reading that they do they must test it out to see if their reasoning can lead to inductive reasoning.

Inputs

In order to maintain nourishment, advancement, and protective health, CHOC needs to:
    13. 13. To receive contributions by donations or recruiting people to organize fundraising events.
    14. 14. Volunteer work such as going to read stories, looking after patients that are in certain conditions, taking pets that are secure for children’s well-being.

Outputs

They are there to serve any child whether they have the resources to pay the services rendered or not.
    15. 15. They never deny treatment due to the fact that they do not discriminate nor reject any child.
    16. 16. They have therapies or support services to help with different situations for both the child and their family.

Process

Provides orientations where testimonies are attained.
    17. 17. They generate fundraisers to obtain donations for the benefit of their financial needs in order to continue serving the community and anyone in need.
    18. 18. They hold walkathons, marathons, or any other type of activity that helps as a benefit in order to obtain $$ for children’s needs.
    19. 19. On October 17, 2010 a WALK IN THE PARK AT DISNEYLAND will be held. In this particular walk they have a set donation per person that is interested in participating in the walk. The donation in $50.00 per individual and they will be walking from Disneyland and Disneyland’s California Adventure around the theme parks.

Outcomes

With their studies, experiences, and much more, they have saved many life's of children even when they have been let go.
    20. 20. They have helped many families cope with life suffering situations and have given them hope.
    21. 21. When an unfortunate diagnosis has been explicated to them, they have been well prepared for the worst scenario of their life if in any case it may result.
    22. 22. Have been recognized and continue to be one of the top hospitals for life savers.

Foundation for Critical Thinking !!

They seek to promote essential change in education and society through the cultivation of fair minded critical thinking.
    23. 23. One of their ideal components is that they are based on education.
    24. 24. Another ideal component is Critical Thinking. This means that they also involve assessment, analyzing, following evidence and making evaluations.

CHOC Foundation
Foundation for Critical Thinking
Provides workshops and events for patients and families.
Have saved and continue to save the life’s of many children.
Provide treatments and services to help them cope with life struggles.
Serve the community in every centimeter of need.
Provides workshops around the world and have their foundation provide presentations.
Their foundation is both efficient and effective.
They have workshops in public places and schools.
Provide events to provide a sense of critical thinking
25. 25. What a Mother Pray’s For
Some of you might not know what it is to carry the blessing of a fetus in your womb. Feel it’s first movements, reactions, and sensations of what life is bringing to them.
I am a mother. A mother of a handsome, adorable, good looking, and chunky hunk. Well, let me just stop there. As a mother we always have something to say of our blessings. We share with others the experiences that we are gaining, the anxiety to not knowing how to relieve their teething pain, how to get rid of the flu that they are going through, the high fever that does not seem to go away , or how to obtain extra sleep time.
All of these are tiny, itty-bitty microscopic tests that don’t have a significance. Really let’s face it! We make a storm in a small cup that has no more space but only for the content that’s in it already. My point is that following my viewpoints and probably many others’, the following content might give you guide you to what I am trying to get across.
Ponder on this question; “would you rather deal with the previous situations and at the end of them have a child like mine or would you rather join praying mother’s begging for GOD’s mercy to not take their blessing away?”
26. 26. What would you do if this blessing had come from your womb?
“Sometimes you just have to smile, pretend every thing's okay, hold back the tears and just walk away.”
27. 27. A Mother’s Prayer
May God grant you peace in the midst of a storm. May God give you strength even when you’re forlorn. May you answer the door when Jesus comes knocking. May wisdom guide when your mouth is talking. May discretion protect you and keep you pure. May you never stumble or fall for a lure. May your heart remain humble to the very end. May uprightness and truth be what you defend. May the world not ensnare or change who you are. May the light that's within you shine like the stars. May angels surround you body, spirit, mind. May favor and peace be yours to find. May rejection and pain never reach you. May your spirit grow bold for what you’re called to.
By:
Rachel Aldous
