Using Voice Thread in the Classroom Annie McCabe Northcote Intermediate School
Focus of the Inquiry
To explore the application, Voice Thread to see how it could be used in the classroom.
After working with Lynne and learning how to use Voice Thread I was very excited about the ways in which it could be used in the classroom.
I had been working with a team to make biodiesel out of used cooking oil and thought Voice Thread would be a useful way to record the process and to assess what the children had learnt.
Voice Thread also provided another Web2 tool to use on our Learning Management System to improve links between school, home and the community as well as create an authentic world-wide audience for the students’ learning.

Where to from here….
Consider using Voice Thread as an assessment tool, particularly within an ePortfolio
Share with home and the community via the intranet, mydesktop
Use Voice Thread with ESOL students to improve oral fluency and to share learning with family and friends in their home country
Discuss as a school how to manage recording voice threads; i.e. access to laptops and microphones, quiet recording room, supervision of students while recording, etc.
