mission
studioMEM is a product development and design consultancy.
At studioMEM we believe that at the heart of any great product or service
lies a fundamentally better idea. Identifying these, by examining the needs
and expectations of the user and merging them with a brand‘s key values, is
at the core of our expertise. Once a quintessential concept is established,
we will shape it to be convincing and meaningful over time.

CALLIX
CALLIX is a conceptual mobile phone, focussed
on merging handwritten text into digital
communication. It is targeted towards
professional users that use their phone to enter
considerable amounts of text into applications like
email, instant messaging and editing, but also those
that simply prefer a more natural way of entering text
than cumbersome, tiny QWERTY keyboards. Based on a
patented low-power laser module by Israel based OTM
Technologies (www.otmtech.com) that tracks the
hand‘s movement, CALLIX translates the user‘s
handwriting into ASCII code. Additionally it enables the
use of gestures to trigger certain functions, thus
allowing an extremely intuitive form of interaction,
since there is no navigation through increasingly long
menu trees.
CALLIX is inspired by an EC-sponsored project VIP-
Data.

Downtown Breakfast Set
,More time for breakfast‘ is the value proposition,
that inspired this product concept. The idea: A tray
containing a pad-based coffeemaker, milk foamer, and
toaster, that can be taken to the breakfast table. The tray
also contains a lithium Ion battery, that allows you to take
the set with you and conveniently place it anywhere on the
table. As much fresh coffee, foamed milk and freshly
toasted bread as you want - without having to get up again
and interrupt precious breakfast time. The design of the
different elements is marked by archetypal shapes, i.e. the
milkfoamer, overall, however, it forms a unity by being
subtly elegant.

SieMatic ,CompactDesign‘
Entry level kitchen
SieMatic CompactDesign is the redefinition of
SieMatic‘s entry-level program, launched in 2008.
With a mission to greatly enhance the value of this
program, we spent most of our efforts on improving
the integration of the kitchen with the interior
architecture. We also added contemporary colours &
materials and some exclusive, new wood
reproductions for the kitchen‘s fronts. The combination
of 1cm and 4cm strong edges creates an elegance and
precision usually found on much more expensive
programs. With layouts between only 7 and 12 sqm
these kitchens proove that exclusivity is not limited to
large floorplans.
