  • 1. New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program Seeing the potential in every horse.
  • 2. Mission
    • To stand in the gap for noncompetitive, often injured racehorses providing a peaceful environment and skilled hands to assist in their development as pleasure mounts. To place these horses in experienced, loving homes that will continue their education so they have a skill and therefore, a future .
  • 3. History
    • Started in 1992
    • Received 501 (c) 3 Status
    • Since 1992 we have placed over 3000 horses in homes
    • Currently place over 300 a year
  • 4. Where do the horses come from?
    • 16 different states
    • Tracks
    • Training Centers
    • Breeding Farms
    • Riding Programs
  • 5. Once they enter New Vocations
    • #1 Goal is to start the transition.
    • Daily turn out with other horses
    • Increase of calories
    • Ground manners
    • Rehab injuries
    • Lunging
    • Start under saddle work and evaluate what the horse knows
    • Standardbreds / get their first riding experience
