Evaluation of magazineThis is the final production in which my partner created, as I created the poster aspect of the ancillary task
The final production of the magazine front cover In which my partner produced has bothused and distanced itself from the drafts in which I created.A clear transformation was the use of the different image. My partner has used an actualframe from the trailer, arguably the most significant one. This is because it is the first shot inwhich the evil of the binary opposition, the young girl is shown. The image also establishesthis branding and anchorage of the trailer, as well as the film poster. This frame is existentwithin all three, and is also the prominent feature of the film poster. This image is iconic, andwould allow the audience to recognise the film immediately, just by viewing this image.Like other already-existing film magazine front covers, my partner has used furtherenticements, informing the audience that there is much more to the magazine than the mainarticle, that is, Enter Sandman. This will also attract the audience, as they will realise thatthe magazine has more to offer. The magazine has kept to a clear colour-scheme of red, black and white. This allows themagazine to appear neat and presentable. The magazine holds a clear head-mast, presenting the title, this immediately allows thereader to recognise the magazine, particularly as the bold, white text stands out greatlyamongst the red backgroundMoreover, the magazine front cover contains more images as a means to both anchor thearticle, and further attract the target audience. This adds excitement to the cover.
How does it compare to real media products?
Both magazines possess images as a means to both attractthe target audience and to anchor the main article. Both titles are large and stand out greatly against their background. This allows the audience to instantly recognise what magazine it is. Both magazines contain added featured, to inform the reader that the magazine has more to offer than just the main article that is advertised by the large image and anchoring text. Another similarity is the use of the barcode, supplying information such as issue release date and price.
