What is ATO? Alpha Tau Omega is one of the Nation’s, and UofM’s, 3 percent of the most historical fraternity U.S. is Greek, and After having an illustrious 117 years at UofM, the of that 3 percent, charter was removed in only 1 percent 2005 Join the efforts to bring this gets this kind of fraternity back to campus, opportunity and help rebuild the prestige it once had!

It has given men a trueideal of life.“ -Otis Allan Glazebrook National Background  ATO was founded by Otis Allan Glazebrook, Erskine Mayo Ross and Alfred Marshall, at the Virginia Military Institute in 1865.  ATO was not established in imitation of or in opposition to any existing fraternity.  ATO annually ranks among the top ten national fraternities for number of chapters and total number of members. ATO has more than 250 active and inactive chapters with more than 200,000 members and more than 6,500 undergraduate members. Otis Allan Glazebrook

National Background Newsweek announced Alpha Tau Omega as the leader of "The Top Ten of Fraternity Row.” ATO was the first fraternity founded after the Civil War in 1865, striving to heal the wounds created by the devastating war and help reunite the North and South. Colors: Azure and Gold. Nickname: Taus, Alpha The ATO Crest Taus, ATOs
  5. 5. Local Background The Beta Lambda chapter of Alpha Tau Omega was founded at the University of Michigan on December 8, 1888. Seven members were initiated that night, in a second story hall on Main Street in Ann Arbor The Beta Lambda Alumni Association (BLAA) was incorporated on May 21, 190 ATO circa 1980 The chapter house at 1415 Cambridge was constructed in 1929 for Beta Lambda

Local Background In 1967, Beta Lambda initiated its 1,000th member Beta Lambda won its first True Merit award in 1980 and went on to win the award in seven out of the next ten year The Beta Lambda Charter was revoked on April 16, The original UM ATO house at 1415 2005, after 118 years and Cambridge over 1,700 initiated member

  9. 9. Social ATO is both a social and leadership fraternity One of the great things about being in ATO is getting the chance to meet many Greeks and Non-Greeks  Mixers, parties, and many other fun ATO Ice-skating with AEPhi events
  10. 10. Brotherhood We do many events together to build a strong bond between us Painting the rock Hanging out Tailgating …And much more! Tigers Game Red Wings game

Philanthropy Another aspect to ATO is giving back to the community Some things we have done are: Relay for Life, NCAA Bracket Pool for the Jalen Rose foundation, Volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House We are currently planning a Relay for Life with AGD and annual campus-wide ATO Signature Philanthropy event Triangle Relay for Life fundraising goal
  12. 12. Academics At ATO, school also has great importance We have brothers in Engineering, Business, and LSA  Brothers are a great source for school help We have rooms reserved in the UGLi every week for brothers to use
  13. 13. Alumni Many UM ATO graduates loved their time in here, they are very active with the colony We have alumni from the ’80s, ‘70s, and even the ‘50s that are involved!
