Hites Transfer Scholarships <ul><li>Up to five students will each receive a scholarship of $7,500 to assist in their attainment of baccalaureate degrees </li></ul><ul><li>Must demonstrate high academic achievement – all questions used to evaluate your overall academic experience while in community college </li></ul><ul><li>Must be enrolled at a community college through March 2011 </li></ul><ul><li>Must have a minimum of 50 semester credits by the time of transfer to a senior institution </li></ul><ul><li>Minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA for all coursework from the past five years </li></ul><ul><li>Admitted to a four-year college with junior level status in 2011. </li></ul><ul><li>Application is available online in January and is due </li></ul><ul><li>by 11:59 pm CST March 1, 2011 </li></ul>

These include: </li></ul><ul><li>All-USA Community College Academic Team Program </li></ul><ul><li>Coca-Cola All-State Academic Team Program </li></ul><ul><li>New Century Scholars </li></ul><ul><li>37 States Hosting All-State Academic Teams </li></ul>

All-USA/All-State Common Application <ul><li>Eligibility: </li></ul><ul><li>Must obtain an associate degree between December 1, 2010, and August 31, 2011, or be transferring to a university (All students must have a minimum of 36 semester college-level credits by 12/31/10 and 48 credits by 8/31/11) </li></ul><ul><li>Two students per campus may be nominated </li></ul><ul><li>Minimum cumulative 3.50 GPA with a minimum of 30 semester college-level credit hours taken at a community college over the past 5 years </li></ul><ul><li>Application submitted online by </li></ul><ul><ul><li>11:59 pm CST December 1, 2010 </li></ul></ul>
  7. 7. All-USA/All-State Rewards <ul><li>Up to 20 team members are named. Each receives a $2,500 stipend and is honored at the AACC Convention and featured in USA TODAY in April 2011 </li></ul><ul><li>300 Students will be named Coca-Cola Scholars. 50 Gold Scholars will receive $1,500 each, 50 Silver Scholars will receive $1,250 each and 50 Bronze Scholars will receive $1,000 each. Gold, Silver and Bronze Scholars will also be featured in USA TODAY in April 2011. 150 Finalists will be selected and will each receive a $1,000 stipend </li></ul><ul><li>New Century Scholars </li></ul><ul><li>Highest-scoring student in each state receives $2,000, and is honored at AACC </li></ul><ul><li>One student from Canada, and one student from an international community college with a Phi Theta Kappa chapter will each receive a $2,000 scholarship </li></ul><ul><li>All-State Academic Teams </li></ul><ul><li>37 States sponsor All-State Academic Teams offering more than $41 million in scholarships </li></ul><ul><li>Students must be nominated for All-USA in order to participate </li></ul>

The Guistwhite Scholarships <ul><li>Active member of Phi Theta Kappa </li></ul><ul><li>Graduate with an associate degree between December 1, 2010, and August 31, 2011 or transfer to a university. (All students must have 45 semester college-level credits by 12/31/10 and 53 credits by 8/31/11) </li></ul><ul><li>Minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA for all coursework from the past five years </li></ul><ul><li>Must have a minimum of 30 semester college-level credits completed at a community college over the past 5 years </li></ul><ul><li>Admitted to a four-year college with junior level status in 2011 </li></ul>

The Guistwhite Scholarships <ul><li>Up to twenty Guistwhite Scholars receive $5,000 each </li></ul><ul><li>Winners are recognized on Phi Theta Kappa’s website & are mailed a certificate & medallion. </li></ul><ul><li>Application submitted online by </li></ul><ul><ul><li>11:59 pm CST December 1, 2010 </li></ul></ul>

Leaders of Promise <ul><li>Phi Theta Kappa member in good standing currently enrolled in a community college </li></ul><ul><li>Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA </li></ul><ul><li>Completed no more than 36 semester hours as of January 31, 2010 </li></ul><ul><li>No previous degree </li></ul><ul><li>Must continue enrollment at a community college for Fall 2010 </li></ul><ul><li>Application submitted online by </li></ul><ul><li>11:59 pm CST May 1, 2010 </li></ul>

GEICO Business Student Scholarships <ul><li>Student must apply as part of the Leaders of Promise Scholarship application </li></ul><ul><li>Awarded to the two top scoring business majors </li></ul><ul><li>Winners each receive $1,000 award </li></ul><ul><li>Application deadline is the same as the Leaders of Promise Scholarship: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>11:59 pm CST May 1, 2010 </li></ul></ul>

Dowell Leadership Scholarship <ul><li>Student must apply as part of the Leaders of Promise Scholarship application </li></ul><ul><li>Students must have attended a Mississippi High School and be currently attending a Mississippi Community College </li></ul><ul><li>One student will be awarded a $1,500 award </li></ul><ul><li>Application deadline is the same as the Leaders of Promise Scholarship: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>11:59 pm CST May 1, 2010 </li></ul></ul>

Frank Lanza Memorial Scholarships <ul><li>Designated for students enrolled in registered nursing, respiratory care or emergency medical services associate degree programs </li></ul><ul><li>Open to both Phi Theta Kappa members & non-members </li></ul><ul><li>Applicant must have completed 50% of their course work leading towards achieving an associate degree </li></ul><ul><li>Minimum 3.0 GPA </li></ul><ul><li>Applicant must submit financial information for the current academic year – applicant must demonstrate financial need </li></ul><ul><li>Up to 25 scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded </li></ul><ul><li>Application submitted online by </li></ul><ul><li>11:59 pm CST October 15, 2010 </li></ul>

Hispanic Scholarship Fund <ul><li>Annually awards 200 scholarships of $1,250 and $2,500 to students transferring from a community college to a senior institution </li></ul><ul><li>Must be of Hispanic heritage, a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident, have a 3.0 GPA, and must apply for federal financial aid through the FAFSA </li></ul><ul><li>Applications typically due February 1 </li></ul><ul><li>For complete details visit www.hsf.net </li></ul>
