    • My Home Town: Huelva (Spain) By Antonia Dominguez Miguela
    • Where is Huelva?
      • Huelva is in the southwest of Spain
      • It is very close to the coast
      • It is near the border with Portugal
    • What is Huelva famous for?
      • Huelva was the originating place for the discovery of the America
      • Many of the first Europeans in America where from Huelva and its surrounding villages.
      • It has one of the oldest football clubs in Europe
      • The pilmigrimage to the Virgin of El Rocio’s Chapel is one of the most important in Europe
    • Huelva and the Discovery of America
      • Cristobal Colon arranged his trip to unknown land in La Rabida, a monastery very close to the city.
    • Huelva and the Discovery of America
      • Many of the members of Colon’s crew were from Palos de la Frontera and Moguer, nearby towns.
    • Real Club Recreativo de Huelva
      • The “Recreativo de Huelva is the oldest football club in Spain and one of the oldest in Europe.
    • Romeria de la Virgen del Rocio
      • It is an old Romeria which pays tribute to the Virgin of el Rocio.
      • Millions of people take part in the pilgrimage to her chapel in The National Park of Doñana every year
    • What I like most about Huelva:
      • Beautiful white-sand beaches
      • The breeze coming from the sea
