Anil Potti Was Associated With Correlative Science Committee, CALGBAnil Potti attended St. Patrick’s High School from 1977 to 1987 and thereafter enrolled at the LJFCollege (Secunderabad) whereby he completed his undergraduate studies in Biology, Physics andChemistry (Majors) in 1989. Afterward, he earned his Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery degree fromChristian Medical College & Hospital, Vellore. He obtained board-certification in Medical Oncology in2007. During his career, Anil Potti was associated with many organizations including Alpha OmegaAlpha Honor Society, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Association of CancerResearch and CALGB Correlative Science Committee.The Cancer and Leukemia Group B Leukemia Correlative Science Committee (LCSC) has been aleading name in correlative science for adult leukemia for twenty five years. Initially, this committeefocused on the use of immunophenotyping for diagnosis and prognosis of acute myeloid leukemia andacute lymphoblastic leukemia. However, for the last fifteen years, it has been focusing on the clinicaluse of cytogenetic and molecular genetic markers in acute lymphoblastic leukemia and acute myeloidleukemia, and in chronic lymphocytic leukemia.Anil Potti is the recipient of numerous awards, such as Alpha Omega Alpha, Outstanding Teacher ofthe year Award, Leonard P. Tow Humanism in Medicine award, Robert Silber Research Prize, AACRTranslational Research Excellence award, Burroughs Wellcome Physician award, Jimmy V FoundationTranslational Research award, and more. He has many years of professional experience during whichhe has held various key positions in different academic institutions and medical organizations. From2000 to 2003, he worked as Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine of UND School ofMedicine & Health Sciences.Anil Potti is a dedicated medical professional who believes in providing personalized cancer treatment.According to him, a crucial step that can help achieve success in cancer therapy is the development ofnew methods for matching drugs with the characteristics of individual patients. He is also of theopinion that without an appropriate mechanism for choosing the right treatment for the right patient atright time, it is not possible to achieve significant improvements in cancer treatment.
