  13. 13. Four Characteristics of a Winner2. A Winner Must Set High Goals "If you are aiming at nothing, youll hit it every time." People who set goals may not always reach them, but they will almost always achieve more than those who set no goals at all. Who has never tasted what is bitter does not know what is sweet.

  15. 15. Four Characteristics of a Winner3. A Winner is Disciplined Setting high goals is a waste of time if you arent willing to work hard to achieve them. Winning is everything. The only one’s who remember you when you come second are your wife and your dog.
  16. 16. Example: Emil Zatopek
  17. 17. Four Characteristics of a Winner4. A Winner Has Strong MotivationWhat motivates you to push yourself? Some examples could include: The thrill of winning It makes you feel good about yourself To impress others, such as friends, parents, or a girlfriend or boyfriend To gain recognitionSometimes it is better to lose and do the right thing than to win and do the wrong thing.
  18. 18. REAL LIFE INCIDENTS “DON’T QUIT” Failures are stepping stones for success When Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, he tried over 2000 experiments before he got it to work. A young reporter asked him how it felt to fail so many times. He said, "I never failed once. I invented the light bulb. It just happened to be a 2000-step process". A school teacher scolded a boy for not paying attention to his mathematics and for not being able to solve simple problems. She told him that you would not become anybody in life. The boy was Albert Einstein. A small boy--the fifth amongst seven siblings of a poor father, was selling newspapers in a small village to earn his living. He was not exceptionally smart at school but was fascinated by religion and rockets. The first rocket he built crashed. A missile that he built crashed multiple times and he was made a butt of ridicule. He is the person to have scripted the Space Odyssey of India single-handedly. He is Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. President of India.
  19. 19. 4 OBSTACLES OF POSITIVE ATTITUDE1. Fear2. Worry3. Anger4. Doubt
  20. 20. 6 STEPS TO ASSURE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE1. What ever challenges you face, focus on the future rather than the past.2. Whenever you’re faced with a difficulty, focus on the solution rather than on the problem.3. Assume that something good is hidden within each difficulty or challenge.
  21. 21. 6 STEPS TO ASSURE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE4. Assume that whatever situation you are facing at the moment is exactly the right situation you need to ultimately be successful.5. In every challenge, look for a valuable lesson.6. Whenever you have a goal that is unachievable, a difficulty that is unresolved, or a problem that is blocking you from getting where you want to go, sit down with a pen and pencil make a list. The more you think on paper, the more you will take control over your conscious mind and focus it where you want.
