The Contoso City Guide is a rich Silverlight application that allows visitors to the Contoso Hotel website to plan, save and share their trip to any city where Contoso has a property.

Guests can select a city that they plan to visit Guests can get instant directions from the hotel to any of the points of interest on the map Custom branded pushpins mark locations on the map Guests can filter points of interest by the type of activity Full set of mapping view features including 2D and #D views as well as Hyrbrid and Bird’s eye imagery Guests can see not only recommendations from the concierge but save their trip plan and search in real-time Guests can see the chat availability of the concierge and start a real-time conversation

Guests can have a real-time conversation when the concierge is available—without needing to have any software installed.

Guests can get instant directions from the hotel to any of the points of interest on the map

As guests roll over each POI, rich visual data is presented and more information is available with a single click

Guests can sit back and watch a guided tour of all of the POI recommended by the concierge

Guests can also drag and drop to add any pushpin to their personalized trip plan Guests can maximize any pushpin on the map and access a rich set of additional information Guests can see rich multimedia information for each POI including HD quality video Guests can print information, access driving direction and e-mail information directly from each pushpin If they’ve signed in, Guests can easily add any POI recommended by the concierge to their own personalized trip plan Guests can sign in with their Windows Live ID to personalize their City Guide experience

Guests can add their own custom pushpins (including media) to any point on their personalized view Once they’ve created their trip plan, guests can share their plan with anyone in their address book via e-mail or IM Guests can view and manage the places on their personalized trip plan
