  • 1. My poetryantholody
  • 2. My poetry anthology consists of threepoems:A dream by Edgar Allan PoeEdna St. Vincent MillayIf you forget me by Pablo Neruda
  • 3. That holy dream- that holy dream,A Dream While all the world were chiding, Hath cheered me as a lovely beamIn visions of the dark night A lonely spirit guiding.I have dreamed of joy departed-But a waking dream of life and light What though that light, thro stormHath left me broken-hearted. and night, So trembled from afar-Ah! what is not a dream by day What could there be more purelyTo him whose eyes are cast brightOn things around him with a ray In Truths day-star?Turned back upon the past?
  • 4. The story of a troubled soul whowants to escape reality. It seems as if this person wants tohide in a dreamworld or fantasyworld so as to escape the troubles ofreal life.Rather than death, the narratorwishes to escape from realitythrough dreams and fantasies.I chose this poem since I could feelthis person’s emotions the first time Iread it. It’s a really intense and sadpoem. The first picture illustrates this worldof fantasy and the second pictureillustrates his other world full ofdarkness.
  • 5. Oh oh you will be sorry for that word!Give back my book and take my kiss instead. Was it my enemy or my friend I heard“What a big book for such a little head!”Come, I will show you now my newest hat!And you may watch me purse my mouth and prink!Oh, I shall love you still, and all of that.I never again shall tell you what I thinkI shall be sweet and crafty , soft and sly;You will not catch me reading any more :I shall be called a wife to pattern by;And some day when you knock and push the doorSome sane day, not too bright and not too stormy,I shall be gone, and you may whistle for me.
  • 6. A clever woman living an unfair situation. Herhusband underestimates her constantly.Throughout the poem, she is warning him of theconsequences of his actions. This poem, illustrates the situation of many womenduring the 1890s.I chose it since I sympathy with this woman and Ivalue her determination to seek for something better.I chose that picture because it illustrates a lonelywoman. In my view she is extremely lonely since shecan not even be herself around her own husband.
  • 7. If you forget me by Pablo Neruda
  • 8. I want you to know Well, now,one thing. if little by little you stop loving me I shall stop loving you little by little. You know how this is:if I look If suddenlyat the crystal moon, at the red branch you forget meof the slow autumn at my window, do not look for me,if I touch for I shall already have forgottennear the fire youthe impalpable ash If you think it long and mad,or the wrinkled body of the log, the wind of bannerseverything carries me to you, that passes through my life,as if everything that exists, and you decidearomas, light, metals, to leave me at the shorewere little boats of the heart where I have roots, that sail remembertoward those isles of yours that wait for me. that on that day, at that hour,. I shall lift my arms and my roots will set off to seek another land.
  • 9. Butif each day, each hour, you feel that you are destined for mewith implacable sweetness,if each day a flowerclimbs up to your lips to seek me,ah my love, ah my own,in me all that fire is repeated,in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,my love feeds on your love, beloved, and as long as you live it will be in your armswithout leaving mine.
  • 10. The theme of this poem is LOVE.This poem is about true love, that kind of love that one would make sacrifices for.In my opinion the message of this poem is that if someone should stop loving you, letting them go and easing their conscious by saying that you will move on is themost honorable and unconditional kind of lovethere is.I chose this poem because itexplains how true love is supposedto be and I actually agree with it!I chose two pictures. Both picturesillustrate love. The first one in amore concrete way, and thesecond in a more abstract way.
