Digital Portfolio Mishka English - Presentation Transcript

    1. Digital Portfolio Mishka English
    2. 3D Studio Max This program is very useful for set design, as you can quickly and easily render a design that is very easy to produce.
    3. 3D Studio Max The four different views of a 3D Studio Max Scene, which allows the user to place objects in the final scene at different POVs.
    4. 3D Studio Max The finished scene, complete with texture and lighting effects.
    5. Autocad Autocad is a technical drawing program that has been in use since the 1980s. These are a few examples of shapes that can be produced using various commands.
    6. Autocad A completed Autocad technical drawing.
    7. Photoshop Photoshop is a very useful piece of software, allowing a user to produce various styles of work, the most common being photomanipulation, cell-style colouring and digital painting and airbrushing. This is an example of very basic photomanipulation.
    8. Photoshop A basic manipulation, using only one layer. Colour filters and lens flare effects applied.
    9. Photoshop A basic manipulation, using one layer. Colour filters used, as well as burn tool to change to a night style photo, and gradient paint used to create light ray effects.
    10. Photoshop A slightly more complex manipulation, yet still only utilising two layers. Colour filters, dodge, burn, and uploaded brushes used for stars and moon.
    11. Photoshop – ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ A set design produced by using several layers, and a mixture of photomanipulation and painting with special brushes.
    12. Photoshop – ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ A costume design produced in Photoshop. The drawing was scanned into the computer, then used as the top layer, set on multiply so that it could be worked on and the line work would still be present. The work was produced through a mixture of cell-style colouring and overlaying a photo to produce textures.
    13. Photoshop – ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ A far more complex photo manipulation, using around 20 layers, as well as some painting and light effects.
    14. Photoshop – ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ A combination of digital painting and airbrushing and photo manipulation.
    15. Photoshop – ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ A complete digital painting.
    16. Evaluation
      • Coming into this module I already had an in-depth knowledge of Photoshop, but apart from that I am very weak with computers.
      • Therefore I was very apprehensive about the ‘crash course’ sort of module we were having.
      • I found I struggled with the pace that we were meant to keep, and although I was able to complete the work, I’m not sure how much I could remember of the programs, particularly 3d Studio Max.
      • In an ideal world I would have been a lot happier if we had twice as long with each of the packages.
      • However, I feel I have gained some basic knowledge of some very useful tools, and am proud of what I have achieved in such a short space of time.
      • I hope that in the future I will be able to utilise these to aid my design work, particularly Photoshop and Autocad, as I find technical drawings extremely difficult to do by hand.
