  • 2. Eating:You are hungry. You are in a restauranteand the waiter brings your food.You smell it. It stimulates your appetite – DR. JCDTyou want to eat.Your mouth waters, filling with saliva. 2
  • 3. The five senses:In addition to smell and taste, the sensesinclude sight (or vision), hearing, andtouch (also called sensation or feeling).To ask about the senses, Doctors use thequestions: DR. JCDT Sight What is Hearing Like? your Sense of smell Normal? Is Your Sense of 3 taste
  • 4. To ask about the sense of touch, doctorstalk about numbness (loss of sensation): DR. JCDT Have you noticed any numbness (in your fingers or toes)? 4

  • 8. Less common functions:There are some things we do less often:- When we are hot, we sweat. DR. JCDT- When we are nervous, we shake.- When we are sad, we cry. 8
