  2. 2.  What is a meteorite and meteoriod? Are there different types of meteorites? If there are what are they? Where can you find them?
  3. 3. Before spacerocks enter theearth’satmosphere thespace rock iscalled ameteoriod.
  4. 4. Once it does enter ouratmosphere it’s called ameteor and will look likea burning ball – we oftencall these shooting stars.Once it hits earth’s groundthat same stone that usedto be a meteor becomes ameteorite!!!!
  5. 5. A meteorite is a meteor that lives through it’spassage through earth’s atmosphere.There are three different main groups formeteorites because of their particular kinds ofminerals and rocks.
  6. 6.  There are three different types of meteorites  Iron  Stone  Stony-iron
  7. 7.  Yes! In fact there are two-hundred-and-ninety- four found in Texas! There were only six found in Oregon and six found in Washington None have been found in Rhode Island! The largest meteorite in America is the Willamette stone, found in Oregon.
