  • 2. Qantas is taking Digital up skilling very seriously. They spend half a billion Dollars per year on IT (that is a three percent of their total revenue).

  • 4. For Qantas the Main objectives for up skilling are to
    Meet obligations under the national + international law
    To improve service and increase skills of workers
    To keep business environments competitive
    To identify business learning needs
    Performance improvement to organizations
    Reducing cost and time
    Increasing revenue
    Being able to accomplish tight deadlines
  • 5. How would we measure the return of investment?(ROI)
  • 6. Measuring the Return of Investment for individual training programs is difficult to do
    One of their key performance measures its customer satisfaction.
    They measure this through questionnaires (Customer feedback)
    conducting focus groups and performing a six-monthly audit.
    Digital learning makes it easier to develop a customized training product tailored to the needs of the enterprise. For these reasons enterprises are much more likes to undertake the upfront investment

    Supervisor’s resistance to releasing staff from their normal rosters
    Online learning contributes to loss of employment for Trainers and Teachers
    Total dependability on Computer Networks
    up skilled workers are not necessarily better paid or have better promotion prospects
