  • Friends of the African Union LOS ANGELES 2014 Month [June] of Civic Hacking Conference Call July 8th 2013 2013 on the FAU LA FAME & Technology conference call July 8th at 4:00 PM EST at Dial-in Number: 213.493.0700 with Participant Access Code: 106132#. In 2005, the African Union defined the African Diaspora as “... peoples of African descent and heritage living outside the continent, irrespective of their citizenship, and who remain committed to contribute to the development of the continent and the building of the African Union.” The Second Annual FAU LA Month of Civic Hacking is to be a international event that will take place in month of June in 2014 with people from around the world in support of LA as a hub of trade between the USA, the America's, Asia and Africa The event is meant to bring together citizens, software developers, and entrepreneurs from all over the world with a focus on LA to collaboratively create, build, and invent new solutions using publicly-released data, code and technology to solve challenges relevant to our chapters, our states united in the FAU Congress of Friends of African States United and the FAU USA Bureau in LA. The Second Annual FAU LA Month of Civic Hacking will provide citizens an opportunity to do what is best for their community as per it's Public Private Partnership while adding that most quintessentially American trait to roll up our sleeves, get involved and work together to improve our society by Democratic means and drawing on the rich history of the African people in the Disporia with a focus on African nations, England and Bermuda.
