  • How many know what seo is? How many think seo is just something you have done to your website?Let's start with the basics. I want you to watch a short video on SEO and then we are going to build on that by focusing on how using these 2 valuable tools Jacqui and Camara have shared - blogging & video - are a powerful pair to help your company gain relevancy in google. Potentially long term.
  • Think SEO!... in your titles, your information, your descriptions, and in the social shares of the post. SEO could also stand for State Everything Obviously. You're talking to humans yes, but you're also talking to search engines. Each piece of information you distribute is an opportunity to tell Google what kind of search terms you consider to be important to your company.
  • State Everything Obviously when you can. Example. Blog titles that are cute but not keyword rich - 'Breathtaking reception under the stars' What's missing? the primary term for the wedding planners website.  A better title, which is still engaging to the 'humans' but informative enough for Google - 'Breathtaking Wedding Reception Under the Stars'
  • It's like leaving the blue head on your profile picture. It makes you seem careless, resulting in your blog appearing unprofessionalIt doesn’t help your readers find the content they’re looking for.Categories are another opportunity to give your blog a bit of Google juice.
  • .everyone has their Google+ local - formerly Maps/Places, right? Don’t forget to give each video a strong title, description, category and tags. Share on all social profiles.
  • Just as you can't be all things to all people, you cannot be all things to Google in one blog post. If it's a wedding reception post, then categorize & tag it appropriately.
  • Content creation and distribution will continue to be important to your search 'health.’Building your profile as an author, delivering high quality content, building relationships and socializing with the right people will allow the website whose content you write, but your author profile will follow you to others websites you may write on, be quoted on and even new websites or blogs you might create. Go to - http://www.google.com/insidesearch/features/authorship/
  • . Look for where your traffic coming from, how much time people are spending on the site, and which pages & posts they view most. You’ll also gain very important information on search terms used to find your website. We setup custom reports for our clients that arrive monthly. These reports touch on key information you should be reviewing regularly to gauge your sites performace.

  • 25. What is SEO?
  • 26. Content is KING. Google is Emperor Creating strong, informative and 'relevant' content on your website, blog and social media pages that is rich in your desired search terms helps you to appear more relevant for search. When you create content, you need to have 2 users in mind. The live ‘human user’ and the ‘search engine’.
  • 27. The Do’s & Do Not’s DO… Think SEO at every turn. In your blog titles, your blog posts, your website pages, your video & photo descriptions, and in the social shares. SEO could also stand for State Everything Obviously
  • 28. Blog Titles are Important! Blog titles that are cute but not keyword rich are missed opportunities to build relevancy… EXAMPLE – NEEDS WORK 'Breathtaking reception under the stars' BETTER – KEY SEARCH TERMS 'Breathtaking wedding reception under the stars'
  • 29. DO NOT LEAVE BLOG POSTS UNCATEGORIZED Leave your posts unassigned in the 'uncategorized' category. At a minimum rename the default category ‘news’ or ‘blog’.
  • 30. DO Create, Share & Embed Video Embed your videos in your blog. Ideally these videos already live on your YouTube channel. Don’t forget to give each video a strong title, description, category and tags. Share on all social profiles!
  • 31. DO NOT OVER CATEGORIZE & TAG DO NOT over categorize or over tag your posts. One post cannot be relevant to every key search term you've thought of for your company. Keep it relevant, keep it concise.
  • 32. DO Be Consistent Regular updates to your blog, website and social media are powerful tools to increase your search traffic and relevancy.
  • 33. DO NOT OVER DO IT Overuse headings, particularly the Heading 1 or H1. The title of the blog is generally always the H1, you do not want more than one H1 per post or page. Heading 1 (H1)
  • 34. DO Setup Google Authorship Building your profile as an author, delivering high quality content, building relationships and socializing with the right people will allow the website whose content you write to benefit, but also your author profile will follow you to others websites you may write on, be quoted on and even new websites or blogs you might create.
  • 35. DO Track & Report Use tools like Google Analytics to track your website’s performance.
  • 36. DO NOT STRESS Remember to think ‘relevant’ content State Everything Obviously Always be learning, always adapt and overcome.
  • 37. Questions?
