  1. 2. <ul><li>Romeo and Juliet was written by Shakespeare in 1594 or 1595. </li></ul><ul><li>He was born in Stratford, England, in 1564, but no one knows the day of Shakespeare’s birth. </li></ul><ul><li>Shakespeare is considered the greatest writer in the English language. </li></ul><ul><li>Surprisingly, Shakespeare’s family was illiterate. </li></ul>
