Have you ever wonder how people, corporations, and many websitesland on thefirst page of Google. When I use Google, I use to think that whatever I was searchingfor and whoever popped up first knew the most about that topic or was some typeof expert. Dont you wish there was a way to get your business on the first pagewithout figuring out and understanding the way SEO (search engine optimization)works?Ever since Google started giving more and more attention to its various results, younow have a great opportunity in front of you to make this happen and get yourcontent to the top... by using VIDEO CONTENTMany studies have shown that videos are over 60 times more likely to appear on thefirst page of search results in Google as part all the various results. The disadvantage is that this pushes down web pages that your usually use toseeing... the advantage is if you take action on the opportunity that video contentgives you... just imagine how powerful it would be for your video to show up beforeweb pages... and especially on the first page of GOOGLE!. Not only does this helpbrand your name, but also gives you an incredible advantage over your competition. But you have to do more with your videos than just create, edit and upload. Thereare some very specific steps you MUST TAKE ACTION ON...Step #1: Upload videos directly to YouTube which is a part of GoogleThis wont guarantee you first-page results, but what will happen is that Google willindex your video if you upload it through YouTube.Why???... Because Google owns YouTube!!!The only disadvantage is that this wont accomplish your SEO goal of driving moreclicks/visits to your site because anyone who clicks on a result on YouTube will getsent to your YouTube channel and not your site.By no means is this a successful SEO strategy... but it doesnt end here...Step #2: Embed the video onto your websiteWhat you have to do is embed the video on your site like SEOmozBy embedding videos onto your website it will help get the videos more views.Understand that this is important for Google algorithms because they want to knowhow many times a video on YouTube has been watched...When this happen the views from your video on your site will get included theGoogle algorithms tally. Note for thought, almost all of the videos that Google showon its various searches are from YouTube!!!
There are exceptions, however:Step #3: Embed videos on pages with textTo help search engines like Google get a better understanding of what the content isall about, make sure you are putting copy on the page. There are two easy strategies for doing thisFirst, write an introduction to the video that goes before the embedded video:The other strategy is to put the transcript on the page, too:You can insert the transcript under the video. You can get the transcript by using aservice like SpeechPad. You are also going to use the transcript on YouTube, so savethe transcript as a txt file.Step #4: Create a video sitemapDont worry about strict video content to get indexed. Google recognizes manyformats for videos such as power point presentations, screen captures like Screenror Screen-o-matic, and slide shows. The problem with Google is it wont see your video content. This means it searchesfor other ways to determine what your video is all about. This is where video SEOtakes its role...Traditionally, Google reads a page of content to figure out how to index it. ButGoogle, though it is trying, cant fully read Flash, so the content in the video remainsinvisible to their spiders. That means you need to submit your video to Google usinga Video Sitemap found at their Webmaster Tools site. Here is an example:Step #5: Focus on long tail keywordsThe video title is important. Google is most interested in your title when it comes tohaving to search. Pretty much... your the title and search term needs to match yourvideo title!!!
In the above search I typed in "how to buy an iPad." The title influences the searchrankings, as well as the description tag so make sure you fill those in as well. And just like normal SEO, its much easier to rank videos for long tail keywords, sofocus on thehm instead of going after generic keywords like "credit cards".Here are some examples of keywords I could go after with my Quick Sprout TrafficSystem video:â Traffic Systemâ Quick Sprout Traffic Systemâ SEO Trainingâ Online marketing trainingOnce you figure out the keywords you want to rank for, make sure you video titleand descriptions match them, as it will be very difficult to rank them if they dont.Step #6: Create a YouTube channelIf you dont already have one, create a YouTube channel... and make sure you createa channel name that is related to your industry. You can even go as far as creating achannel name that has your keyword in it.In the example above you might say "SEO Training and Marketing." Not many nameswill be available, so this will take some time. And dont forget that there is acharacter limit to the channel name, which seems to be about 30.The fastest way to get the keyword loaded copy is to upload the transcript toYouTube. The procedure is pretty straight forward... you just upload it like it was acaption:The reason this is important is because all of your keywords are in that transcript, which then gets indexed by GoogleEnter the keyword in the title, description and keyword tag, and now start buildinglinks to it.Step #7: Build backlinks to your videoIf you want to build links to your video I recommend that you follow these 10advanced techniques of getting authority links and these link-building tactics. If youwant to be lazy about your link building, you could use Fiverr.Fiverr is a site where people will do just about anything for $5, like dance in spandexand sing happy birthday messages.
But thats not what you need! What you need is to look for the Fiverr profile "social_bookmark".Once you give him the keyword and URL and pay him $5, hell get backlinks to yourYouTube video. In about a week hell be finished, even giving you a report with all of the links. The amount of time that it takes for your video to actually rank, however, may takeanywhere from a week to three weeks after the back links have been added. So in total you could be ranking in one month, but you probably wont rank as highas you would like as the links that youll get from Fiverr wont be as high in quality.Which is why I recommend that you ideally try to build them manually.
