8. Use close-ups as well as long shots as this keeps the audience engaged in the clip as well as letting them think its a very important moment.

11. Close-ups & long shots Over the shoulder close-up Extreme close up Long shot The use of these shots have challenged the real media products as ours keeps the audience guessing while still adding tension to the clip. These types of shots mean the audience can decide for themselves which close-ups are important and necessary.
12. Music The music to our title sequence is much like the Shining as it starts very quiet and tense but it gradually builds the tension through the clip. This music is very effective and works well for a horror. We have challenged the conventions by adding the phone ringtone at the end as it creates a silent atmosphere with only the phone ringing creating even more tension and fear.
13. Ending clip This ending clip is a surprise to the audience as it comes after the title. As the music stops the audience believed that was the end. This clip adds tension and mystery as the audience guess where the girl has gone.
14. Location We have challenged the conventions by setting ours in a public busy environment. Doing this makes it slightly more scary as they location is accessible to the audience watching. It allows them to think ‘this could happen to me’.
