  • 2. Who are the target audience for your magazine?
    • 16-24 year olds
    • Interested in new music of a variety of genres
    • Influenced by chart music
    • Enjoy live music
    • Mix of genders
  • 3. How does music fit into their lives?
    • They listen to the radio often
    • Socialise at gigs
    • Watch music channels
    • Download podcasts
    • Keep updated on the music industry through iTunes, We7, YouTube etc.
    • Use iPods/Mp3 players often
    • Buy informative materials such as magazines and newspapers with features relating to music
  • 4. How will your magazine address their needs?
    • Cover a mix of genre’s which we think would appeal to the target audience (16-24)
    • Cover big news stories about music artists in these genres
    • Instant recognisable colour scheme and logo which represents both genders
    • Regular features such as charts, gig guides and competitions etc. to keep the magazine interesting and new
    • Reviews of live shows as well as albums are regular features
  • 5. How will your magazine stand out from others?
    • Most music magazines only have one genre of music (rock/alternative), whereas ours will cover a variety attracting a wider audience
    • We will have more features on artists that are new to the industry, that we think are going to be big
    • Have an exciting competition every week
    • Will be cheaper than other magazines such as Kerrang and NME.
  • 6. Layout and form of images and text
    • Text will be written in a friendly and casual form, which will help connect to the reader
    • The images will be laid out so that they are clear, and will fit around the text
    • The colours of the images will be matched with the colour scheme of the page
