Slide 4: Language Arts Term One Reflection 3. Describe your classroom performance in L.A for term one. In L.A, I hand in my work on time. I try to stay focused on working on the task and try not to be distracted by other things. I think that I can put in more effort on the reports that I do by adding in more details. I like to work with a partner because I feel comfortable with doing team work. 6. **Two Stars – Name two things that you did really well this term. I think I did well on doing the reading comprehension assignments. I also think I did well on writing reading responses. 9. *One Wish – Name one way in which you could improve in term two. I want to improve on how to use powerful words in proper ways because using words in the proper place will make my reports sound better.

Slide 6: Term Two Reflection In my portfolio, you will look at all the work that I have done in grade eight so far. I will present the best work that I have done in the subjects of Language Arts, Science, French, Math, Social Studies, Physical Education/Health, Band, Music, and Practical Arts. My favourite subject is Math because I like solving math problems since their very challenging and interesting. I will also show you the extracurricular activities that I have participated in this year at school. Name three ways in which you have achieved this goal: 1. I completed all my homework. 2. I handed in my projects and assignments on time. 3. I ask for help when I need it. In grade 8, it is important to set goals to continuously improve as learners. In order to improve all your subjects, state 3 goals for term 3: 1. I will ask questions when I don’t understand something. 2. I will try to participate more in class discussions. 3. I will try to focus more on task and not talk to others.

Slide 20: Music There are some things that we do in music, but one common thing we do in music are listening examples. Here are the questions that we need to answer. Listening Example Questions: 1. What instruments or voices do you hear? 2. If you were watching this concert, how many people do you think would be on stage ? 3. Is there a lot going on at once? Do you hear think texture or thing texture? 4. Is there a steady beat? Is it duple or triple? Fast or slow? Do you hear rhythmic patterns repeated? 5. Is this major or minor? 6. Is there variation of dynamics? Do you hear different volume levels? 8. Have you hear music similar to this music before? 7. If you wanted to purchase this recording, what aisle in the store would you need to find? 9. If this music was used in a movie, what would be happening in the scene? Slide 28: Conference Questions .. 1  What did you see as your daughter’s strengths? The strengths that I saw in my daughter is the writing comprehension that she does and taking the time to work on the portfolio.

Slide 29: Conference Questions .. 2  What was most interesting or surprising to learn about your daughter? The most surprising thing to learn about my daughter is that she can type very fast and I was very surprised that she got fifth place on the school honour roll. I would like to thank the teachers for teaching my daughter to get to a great progress.
