Liberty Footwear enters telecom; to offer WiMax<br />Liberty Group tied up with Israel based Runcom Technologies to offer WiMax mobile broadband and communication services.<br />Plant set up at Bawal in Haryana to manufacture Base stations, CPE, USB Tongs for Broadband Wireless Access and Mobile.<br />
  3. 3. BlackBerry may face ban if no solution in 5days<br />On 26th August government made it clear BlackBerry services may be banned if its maker, Research-in-motion fails to provide a monitoring solution.<br />BlackBerry must install server with Indian service provider.<br />
  4. 4. Food inflation eases to 10.05%<br />Food price index rose to 10.05% by 14 August against 10.35% in previous week.<br />Fuel price index remained steady at 12.57%.<br />

A-I to slash fares on domestic routes<br />Air India decided to slash fares to increase market share.<br />A-I will reduce fares on 48 domestic routes by 3-23% effective September1.<br />A-I third largest player in country with 17.3% share , Kingfisher with 20% share and Jet Airways with 26% share is leader in domestic market.<br />
  6. 6. Nissan doubles Micra production; order backlog at 2500 units<br />Japanese car major Nissan doubled production of its car Micra to 500 units per day in order to clear backlog of 2500 units.<br />Micra is priced between Rs 3.98 lakhand Rs 5.29 lakh.<br />

Religare promoters make open offer for additional 20% stake<br />Religare Enterprises founders Malvinder and Shivinder Singh made an open offer to company shareholders at Rs 457 a share.<br />This will increase their share by 20%.<br />Their stake in company will increse 8.03% to 65.8%.<br />
