1. ‘TV addict debate’<br />In the modern world, television addiction is becoming increasingly recognised as a ‘new phenomenon’. A television set seems to be the centre piece of a living room in many family households. This may be interpreted as a way to from social relationships with friends and family members whilst bonding over the television, however is it healthy that watching television has become one of our ‘daily essentials’?According to recent debate, the aspect of a direct correlation between television consumption and childhood obesity is now a medical fact; according to the following article http://www.realtruth.org/articles/233-tta.html (1) ’12 medical studies since 1985 link excessive television watching to increasing rates of obesity.’ <br />It has been hypothesised that television viewing causes obesity by lack of physical exercise, increased calorie intake whilst watching television and persuasion via advertisement and reduced resting metabolism in children.
