The document discusses some mismatches in the traditional teacher-centered classroom model, including students not having enough time to comprehend lessons, needing help with homework but working alone, and an imbalance of questions for the teacher. It suggests that technology allows for a shift to a more student-centered approach where students can learn at their own pace, work is done in class with teacher support, and both teachers and other students provide assistance, making the learning process more collaborative.

Editor's Notes
The traditional classroom: T delivers lesson to S, S go home to do homework alone, next day a few questions might be asked. Teacher is at the center, T responsible for learning.
But so many things were mismatched – the amount of time spent delivering the lesson was either too little or too much for most S.
When the work was being done, the T and the S were not in the same place
And when they were in the same place, there wasn’t enough time for one teacher to answer everyone’s questions. But in the flipped class…..
And when they were in the same place, there wasn’t enough time for one teacher to answer everyone’s questions. But in the flipped class…..
….thanks to technology, we can shift the outer circle
So that people, places, and times are much better aligned
S can take as long or as little time as they need to watch a lesson
Homework done in class, (can’t call it homework anymore) while the teacher is there
….to answer questions, offer help, and do jit teaching
Now all this time is available for
Everyone to learn together
And the line between T and S
Gets blurred as students take more responsibility for their own learning, and teacher becomes lead learner
T is no longer at the centre, T can now be guide on the side as students collaborate on work
…..both T and S can offer individual help to other students
