    • A slum , as defined by the United Nations agency UN-HABITAT , is a run-down area of a city characterized by substandard housing and squalor and lacking in tenure security. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slum )
    • A slum dweller is the person who lives in the slum
  • 4. Causes
    • slow economic progress.
    • The poverty with low incomes
    • vicious cycle of population growth
    • inadequate housing
    • opportunities in the cities (leading to migration to the cities)
