    • What are search engines? • A program that searches documents for specified keyword and returns a list of documents where the keyword were found. • Search engines are used for searching information from websites through internet. • Examine information personally. • The search engines and directories help you sift through all those 1’s and 0’s to find out specific information you need. • Example is Google.

    • History of Google • Google is an American Company. • Created by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. • They were Doctoral Students of Stanford University. • Google’s idea was born in 1996. • Search machines had serious problems all how to show up information. • That was the reason Page and Brin decided to make a new and better Search Machine.
    • The Search Machine • They had to download all the web pages in their servers and make a good connection between search machine result and users searches. • This problem arisen from other search machines and they had to solve it. • The solution called Page Rank Algorithm. • Very soon Google reached the top. • They turned all the disadvantages into advantages.

    • Gmail • In 1st of April 2004, Gmail operated. • A safe way to send Emails. • Free registration because company’s profit comes from adds. • In the beginning the storage that was offered, was 1GB. • Today, Gmail offers a storage of 25 GB. • In June 2012, Gmail users were more than 425 million.
    • Google Chrome • In 11th December 2008, Google presented Google Chrome. • It was the basic Browser. • We can find Google Chrome in three versions, 1. Google Chrome for laptops and desktops. 2. Chrome Android for mobile phones and tablets. 3. Google Chrome OS for Linux Software
    • Google + • In 28th of June 2011, entered in social media world by the creation of Google +. • Google + has 540 million registered users. • Is in on 5th position of social media.
    • Google new products Google Music Cloud Service A program that helps people spend more time listening their music and less time managing it. Once their music is online, Its always available. Play lists are automatically kept in sync and then don’t have to worry about files transfers or running out of storage space. Chrome Books They are personal computers that run Google Chrome OS. The devices comprise a distinct class of personal computers falling between pure cloud client and traditional laptop.

    • Why is it successful until now? • Ability to adapt. • Their work ethic philosophy, their aggressive stance in terms of acquiring business, which they believe add value to their business. • Providing an outstanding services to its users.

    • WHAT IS FACEBOOK ? • Facebook is a “social networking website.” • Facebook is a free service that allows you to create an online page to connect with friends family or make new friends with anyone anywhere. • On facebook page you can share pictures, personal information messages, videos, join groups and add applications.
    • History of Facebook • Facebook was founded in 2004 by Harvard student Mark E.Zuckerberg with the help of his roomates Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. • Facebook was for Harvard students then expanded to other other colleges then to anyone over the age of 18, and now currently to anyone 13 years of age or older. • Company’s over view: “Facebook’s mission is to give people the power to share and make the world more open and connected”.

    • •Through Facebook Ads and Fans page you can advertise your business. • As it is a social network it’s a great way to keep people in touch with friends and also make new friends. • Facebook has the good privacy setting which gives you the option to customize according to your wish. • You can also join groups having same likes and dislikes.
    • Disadvantages of Facebook • Facebook addiction causes many problems. • Fake profile. • Bad effects on students results. • Used by criminal minds. • Sharing too much information could become a problem so share only what you a comfortable with your sharing.
