3. Have you ever wanted to glide over the pavement like you
were flying? Well here's your chance to do just that! Just
grab a rip stick and go! This book is about how to ride a rip
stick and how to be safe on one.

4. 1 Safety & Footwear
If you want to ride a rip stick you've got to know how to be safe on one. First,your going to need a
helmet. You don't need these pieces of safety wear but you might feel better with them on. They
are; knee pads,elbow pads and skateboarding gloves. Also, you don't want to go rip sticking in
flip flops,boots,sandals or barefoot. If you want to be safe wear sneakers. You also look out for
cracks. They can really get in your way. Especially if your first learning how to ride one. If your
really good and you can go over cracks than great, but don't try to go over cracks you think are to
big because sometimes they are to big and you could hurt yourself.
5. 2 Getting on
There are two ways to get on: with help or without
help. Here are the instructions for getting on with
help.
First,find something to hold on to. (Person,wall,pole) set
your rip stick down in front of you. Put your right/left foot
(whichever one is comfortable) on the back pedal. (Which is
the biggest pedal) Then put your right/left foot on the front
pedal(the smallest pedal) And then your done! You've gotten
your rip stick with help!
Here are the instructions for getting on without help.
First,you put your right/left foot on the back pedal. This part
is a little tricky,push off a little with the foot that isn't on the
rip stick. Then,really quickly put the foot that isn't on the rip
stick on the front pedal.
6. Tip:remember to lean into
your turns.
Now that your on your rip stick here the instructions on how to ride your rip stick. It's kinda tricky.
Wiggle whatever foot that is on the back pedal. It takes a lot of practice. You might want to hold
onto something at first until your good enough. And for your own safety don't go over cracks that
look to big. After you learn how to ride your rip stick pretty well you need to learn how to turn,here
are the instructions on how to turn. It sounds easy but it's not. Once you get going at a pretty good
speed you push with the foot that's on the back pedal. For example,if you want to go right you push
back ,if you want to go left you push forward.
3 Riding
7. Now that your on your rip stick and riding it at some point you need to get off. There are two ways
to get off,jumping off and stepping off. Jumping off is easy you just jump off your rip stick. But you
have to be care full you don't fall. And stepping off you just don't wiggle for awhile and then step
off. Master all of those steps and CONGRATS! You've learned how to ride a rip stick!:)
