  • 1. Divorce By: Alyssa Anderson
  • 2. Topic Definition
    • Divorce is the separation of two people by a court law. (according to www.dictionary.com)
  • 3. Thesis Statement
    • Although some marriages end in divorce the church believes it is morally wrong without reason.
  • 4. Pro-divorce
    • Divorce is beneficial if one of the spouses is abusive or has committed adultery
    • Once a spouse has become abusive the marriage is past the point of repair
    • Trying to change the spouse most likely won’t work because their abusive habits will still remain
    • Restraining orders can be obtained in court to separate the abusive spouse from the victim
  • 5. Pro-divorce continued
    • Adultery shatters the trust the spouses share and cause resentment
    • After adultery is committed most people are unable to ever trust their spouse again
    • Adultery is grounds for a divorce and an annulment whether both want one or not
