  • 2. Colossians 2:6-7
    • “ As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving .”

    • Conversion is a gift and an achievement
  • 4.
    • It is the act of a moment and the work of a lifetime.
  • 5.
    • Salvation is of course, a pure gift of God, it is total Grace.
  • 6. A Common Wrong Assumption:
    • That spiritual growth is a given after conversion. That one would automatically grow when left alone.
  • 7.
    • Discipline is a fruit of conversion – not the root.
  • 8.
    • A fruitful life cannot be a careless life. It need to be nurtured.
    • “ As therefore you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so live in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith” (Col. 2:6-7, RSV)
  • 9. Key of spiritual nurture:
    • Develop Simple spiritual Habits:
  • 10. The Jesus’ habits:
    • 1. He stood up and read as was his custom.
  • 11. The Jesus’ habits:

    • 2. He went out into the mountain and pray as was his custom.
  • 12. The Jesus’ habits:

    • 3. He taught them again as was his custom.
  • 13. Godly habits:
    • Reading the Word of God
  • 14. Godly habits:
    • Praying the Word and Dialogue with God
  • 15. Godly habits:
    • Passing on what God has given us
  • 16. Check list of our spiritual journey:
    • “… supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love”
