FOREWORD The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (MECS) is delighted to pres-ent you the Second English edition of the Education Statistical Yearbook ofwhich the Mongolian Edition has been published annually since 2003. We arepleased to inform you that the English Edition will be published annually in thefuture. The present English Edition contains education sector data from the aca-demic year of 2010-2011 while the data related to the culture and science sec-tors are from the fiscal year of 2010. This publication is a product of the Ministry’s broader operation collectingand analyzing data to improve planning, resource allocation, monitoring andpolicy formulation for decision making.
