EVENT INVITATION: One Health Biomanufacturing Summit & Industry Expo Thursday, March 8, 2012 Johnson County Community CollegeOBJECTIVE: People, animals, and our environment are all connected -- creating dynamic, profound and unprecedentedchallenges. The One Health concept is an approach to encourage collaborative, multi-disciplinary efforts locally, nationallyand globally to obtain optimal health for humans, animals and our environment. The One Health Biomanufacturing Summitbrings together the region’s thought leaders to uncover best-in-class strategies and practices needed to thrive in an increasinglycompetitive environment. The 2012 Summit is being sponsored by SAFC and other bioscience industry companies, research enterprises andorganizations. Prior Summits attracted 150 attendees, with topics covering the One Health regional impact, manufacturingstrategies, regulatory issues and the future of cell-culture production. With capacity available for 200 attendees in 2012,speakers and topics will appeal to a broad audience of senior level industry professionals working within manufacturing, processdevelopment and product operations.FORMAT: The Summit combines podium presentation and panel discussions to allow our subject matter experts to share bestpractices and lead discussions about some of the most important issues impacting our respective industry sectors. Podiumpresenters are combined in groups of three or four, and a moderator leads the introductions for each speaker and the resultingpanel discussion. In 2012, we will once again have two concurrent sessions: “Applying the One Health Approach”and “Biomanufacturing & Animal Health to appeal to a broad range of attendees. One track presented a big pictureoverview of the One Health Approach, and the other track provided a more deep-reaching look at best practices. PODIUM PRESENTATIONS: Each expert prepares and present a 20 minute podium presentation related to their area of expertise.
