SettingOne of the settings is Isle Esme, where Bella and Edward hadtheir honeymoon. The other setting is where most of the story takes place, theCullen residence.
WeddingBella Swan and Edward Cullen get married, with both sides of the familyand their friends in attendance to celebrate the special event. The Swanfamily of course not knowing about the Cullen’s being a clan of vampires.Having an unexpected guest, Jacob Black, who is in love with Bella attendstheir wedding secretly. Jacob reminds Bella how much he still loves her andsays that no matter what, he will always be there for her.
Isle EsmeAfter the wedding, Edward takes Bella to an island that belongs toEdward’s mother, Isle Esme, where they have their honeymoon. WithEdward being a vampire and Bella still being human, they couldn’t have theusual honeymoon. But that didn’t stop them. They spend a couple days onthe island, but end up going home earlier than planned because of someunexpected news.
PregnancyEnding their honeymoon early, Edward and Bella head back to Forks,Washington to the Cullen residence. Bella realizes she is pregnant, notknowing it was ever possible to have a baby with a vampire. Edward’sfather, Carlisle, being a doctor helps Bella through the struggle of carrying ahalf vampire half human baby.
Giving birthBella’s human body was too weak to carry a half vampire baby; so the longer thebaby was in her, the faster it was breaking Bella’s bones and eventually would killher. It was finally about time to get the baby out because it was killing Bella fasterthan they thought. Carlisle and Edward are in the process of taking the baby outof Bella’s stomach, but Bella was losing too much blood, that Edward had no otherchoice but to inject venom into Bella’s heart, transforming her into a vampire. Thebaby is finally out of Bella’s body and names the baby girl Renesmee.
motherhoodBella survives giving birth to her baby, but is now just like the Cullens. Jacobfinding out the baby is out of Bella, Jacob tries to kill the baby, but instead he"imprints"—an involuntary response in which a shape-shifter finds his soul mate— on Renesmee. Jacob had fallen in love with Renesmee and has no choice but tohelp save her from the wolf pack, who tries to kill her due to the change of Bellafrom human to vampire. Edward’s entire family helps Bella through thetransformation of becoming a vampire. They teach her how to hunt and how tocontrol herself around humans. Edward and Bella live in a cottage home withtheir baby just near the Cullen’s house. She eventually gets use to how her bodyhas changed. Edward and Bella live happily ever after, along with Renesmee andJacob.
LoveIn Breaking Dawn, true love overcomes all obstacles. True love leaves thecharacters no choice but to give theirs lives to save the people they love. Bella iswilling to sacrifice her life, for the love of her daughter, Renesmee. Jacob standsagainst his own werewolf pack to protect Bella and the Cullens. When Jacobimprints on Renesmee, he dedicates his life to her. After Bella transforms into anewborn vampire, her love for Edward remains stronger than her thirst for blood.
The weddingPersonally, my favorite part of the book was the wedding. It was just so romanticand heart felt. The way Stephenie, the author, describes the look of the weddingwas stunning. The venue, decorations, and preparations of the wedding made itseem so real and easy to visualize. The way she describes Bella’s current feeling asshe walks down the aisle just looking for Edwards eyes.“I was distracted by the profusion of white blossoms that hung in garlands fromeverything in the room, dripping with long lines of white gossamer ribbons. I toremy eyes from the canopy and searched across the rows of satin-draped chairs--blushing more deeply as I took in the crowd of faces all focused on me--until Ifound him at last, standing before an arch overflowing with more flowers, moregossamer.” (Meyer 48)
Meet Stephenie MeyerStephenie Meyer was born in Hartford, Connecticut. She attended Brigham YoungUniversity in Provo, Utah. She didn’t write any other stories before writing Twilight, she thought she would never be an author. Before becoming the successful author thatshe is now, the only professional work she had was being a receptionist in a propertycompany. The idea for Twilight came to her in a dream. A dream about a human girland a vampire who was in love with her but thirsted for her blood. Meyer finishedwriting Twilight, she published it, and it became a hit in teens. Following the successof her first book, she made a sequence that follows Twilight. The second installment iscalled New Moon, following that is, Eclipse. And the fourth installment in the sequenceis Breaking Dawn.
The endI enjoy reading books that are filled with romance. And this book was all about theromantic feeling between Edward and Bella. Plus, their relationship was not likeany others, which made the book even more interesting for me to read. This bookwill never get old to me. I very much recommend reading this book. The bookwent from romance to suspense to action and back to romance. It was a pleasurereading about Edward and Bella’s life together.
