• Used as a way of picturing relationships between different groups of things (or sets.)
• You will classify objects into different groups.

• 1 St you must draw a rectangle, which is called your universe .
• -The universe is everything you’re dealing with in this set of data (or any data.)

• 6. For this example we’re going to classify shapes. For this step you could draw as many circles as you would need to classify. I need three circles to classify; small shapes , yellow shapes , and hexagonal pieces . These circles must be over lapping to show were data is the same. • 8. These our the shapes that need classifying. You must begin to think how each of these can be classified into our three groups; small pieces , yellow pieces , and hexagonal pieces . Once you have begun to classify the shapes you can begin to insert them into our Venn Diagram. The point of Venn diagrams is that we can show this overlap in set membership by overlapping these circles. That is why the circles must be overlapped.
