    • The tsunami pounds down on the coast, and surges inland. It sweeps away everything in its path.
    • When the tsunami nears the shore, its waves become closer together and taller.
    • Any tsunami needs an early warning system that allows people to seek higher ground.
    • As tsunamis approach shore section that it begins slow and grow in height.
    • The pacific tsunami warning system, a coalition of 26 nations head quartered in Hawaii.

    • There is often no advance warning of an approaching tsunami. However, since earthquakes are often a cause of tsunami, an earthquake felt near a body of water may be considered an indication
