    • Phase 2A In this slide show: Mechanical Room, New Elevator and Grand Stairs May 18, 2011
    • Additional geothermal wells were drilled on the west side of the station to provide 100% heating and cooling for the station.
    • Mechanical room with roll up door installed and geothermal mechanicals insulated.
    • Geothermal well pumps in mechanical room.
    • Northeast corner of Jackson Plaza is finished, including seismic upgrade.
    • Area under Jackson Plaza adjacent to the west wall.
    • Lighting and ventilation are installed. Most marble panels are back in place.
    • Facing southwest under Jackson plaza beneath the Grand Staircase.
    • A new terrazzo floor, lighting and original marble panels are installed in the future baggage area.
    • A new storage room west of the elevator.
    • New elevator installed connecting the terminal level to the 3 rd floor.
    • Elevator machine room.
    • HVAC connections under the Plaza.
    • Construction under way on mezzanine level for Amtrak offices, including a bathroom and break room.
    • View from on the mezzanine level.
    • Scaffolding erected over Grand Stairs for restoration.
    • Following waterproofing, new terrazzo treads and landings the grand the stair will reopen late summer/early fall. 
    • New, precast terrazzo treads will be installed on the grand stairs.
    • Granite bench installation made of salvaged granite from adjacent historic building foundations.
    • Wood and granite bench installation is complete.
    • This roof hood is the exhaust for the new elevator.
