        • Quiet… for just a moment listen for the chirp of the birds outside . Because we live in such a hurried world, which is changing at an ungaugeable speed, the nuance of nature and life is lost to our senses. Most striking loss is evident in the way we perceive what is around us. The act of looking has been reduced to a cursory glance. Simultaneously understanding what we see has become a talent of deciphering only the things that are functional and by doing so unavoidably losing the adventure of discovery. To this end a legendary photographer by the name of Henri Cartier-Bresson seems, by way of magic, to make time stand still. Cartier-Bresson’s images command that you take notice and ponder the reality of here and now. These same images also depict the once forgotten and truly emphasizing the extraordinary in the ordinary. Armed with this philosophy, it becomes apparent through my images that it is, worthwhile to rediscover what we have become complacent to in life, because it may be the case that we discover something new in the process.
        • In summation, our perception of everyday objects and even the way we view our environment has been blurred by the speed of innovation. This enlightenment urges me to throw a speed bump into the mix. Quiet… for just a moment listen for the chirp of the birds outside.
