Non-point source pollution <ul><li>As water from rainfall and snowmelt flows over and through the landscape, it picks up and carries contaminants from many different sources. </li></ul><ul><li>This is called Non-Point Source Pollution . </li></ul><ul><li>This polluted water ends up in streams, lakes and the ocean by flowing directly in or by going, untreated, through storm drains. </li></ul><ul><li>Water also carries pollutants into underground drinking water as it soaks into the ground. </li></ul>

Creamy Soft Scrubber <ul><li>Ingredients </li></ul><ul><li>½ cup baking soda </li></ul><ul><li>Ecover Washing liquid </li></ul><ul><li>Glycerine </li></ul><ul><li>Water </li></ul><ul><li>Equipment </li></ul><ul><li>1 Bowl </li></ul><ul><li>1 spoon </li></ul><ul><li>1 glass jar with lid </li></ul><ul><li>1 sponge/cloth </li></ul><ul><li>Method </li></ul><ul><li>Pour baking soda into a bowl </li></ul><ul><li>Add enough ecover to make a texture like icing </li></ul><ul><li>You may need to add a few teaspoons of water </li></ul><ul><li>Add a few drops of glycerine to keep it moist </li></ul><ul><li>Store in a sealed glass jar </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>Method </li></ul><ul><li>Combine the ingredients in a spray bottle and shake until he washing soda has dissolved. </li></ul><ul><li>Apply and wipe off with a sponge/rag </li></ul>All-Purpose Spray Cleaner <ul><li>Ingredients </li></ul><ul><li>1/2 teaspoon washing soda A dab of liquid soap 2 cups hot tap water </li></ul><ul><li>Equipment </li></ul><ul><li>½ teaspoon washing soda </li></ul><ul><li>Squirt of Ecover </li></ul><ul><li>2 cups hot tap water </li></ul>

Window Cleaner <ul><li>Ingredients: </li></ul><ul><li>1/4-1/2 teaspoon liquid detergent (Ecover), 3 tablespoons vinegar, 2 cups water </li></ul><ul><li>Equipment: </li></ul><ul><li>1 cup, 1 spray bottle, 1 teaspoon, 1 Tablespoon, 1 clean dry cloth OR a few sheets clean, dry newspaper </li></ul><ul><li>Method </li></ul><ul><li>Put all the ingredients into a spray bottle, shake it up a bit, and use as you would a commercial brand. </li></ul><ul><li>The soap in this recipe is important. It cuts the wax residue from the commercial brands you might have used in the past. </li></ul>

Floor Cleaner <ul><li>INGREDIENTS </li></ul><ul><li>1/8 cup liquid soap or detergent </li></ul><ul><li>1/4 to 1/2 cup white distilled vinegar </li></ul><ul><li>1/2 cup strong peppermint herb tea (peppermint adds antibacterial qualities) </li></ul><ul><li>Directions </li></ul><ul><li>Combine ingredients in a bucket. </li></ul><ul><li>Swirl the wash around until it is sudsy, then proceed to mop as normal. </li></ul><ul><li>Discard any unused formula. </li></ul>

Lip Balm This gloss is perfect to sooth slightly chapped lips and give you a healthy shine. <ul><li>Ingredients: </li></ul><ul><li>1 Tablespoon honey, </li></ul><ul><li>1 tablespoon almond oil, </li></ul><ul><li>1 ½ teaspoons beeswax, </li></ul><ul><li>5-10 drops vanilla essence OR other natural essence, such as peppermint or orange. </li></ul><ul><li>Equipment </li></ul><ul><li>1 bowl, </li></ul><ul><li>1 Saucepan of very hot water, </li></ul><ul><li>1 teaspoon, </li></ul><ul><li>1 tablespoon, small storage containers with lids. </li></ul>

Lip Balm <ul><li>Directions: </li></ul><ul><li>Place the bowl over the saucepan of hot water. </li></ul><ul><li>Into the bowl put a tablespoon of honey, a tablespoon of almond base oil, and one and a half teaspoons of beeswax.  </li></ul><ul><li>When the beeswax is melted, remove from heat and add five drops of vanilla essential oil. Stir. </li></ul><ul><li>Place the pan in a small amount of cold water (do not let the water get in the pan) and stir the contents vigorously for about a minute. </li></ul><ul><li>Put the mixture in storage containers and let sit for two hours before using. This gloss is best if used within a year. </li></ul>

Egg & Lemon Clarifying Shampoo <ul><li>Ingredients: </li></ul><ul><li>1 ounce olive oil </li></ul><ul><li>1 egg </li></ul><ul><li>1 tablespoon lemon juice </li></ul><ul><li>½ -teaspoon apple cider vinegar </li></ul><ul><li>Equipment </li></ul><ul><li>1 plastic or glass container with lid </li></ul><ul><li>, 1 teaspoon, </li></ul><ul><li>1 tablespoon, </li></ul><ul><li>1 fork, </li></ul><ul><li>1 knife (to cut the lemon) </li></ul><ul><li>Directions </li></ul><ul><li>Place all ingredients in container and beat with a  fork until well-mixed. </li></ul><ul><li>Use as normal shampoo, but rinse with luke-warm or cool water, not hot water. Very hot water will start to cook the egg, and you will have scrambled egg in your hair! </li></ul><ul><li>Keep any leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days. </li></ul>

Honey Lemon Sugar Scrub <ul><li>Ingredients </li></ul><ul><li>1 1/4 cups  sugar </li></ul><ul><li>1/4 cup sweet almond oil </li></ul><ul><li>2 teaspoons lemon juice </li></ul><ul><li>2 tablespoons honey </li></ul><ul><li>4 drops lemon essential oil    </li></ul><ul><li>Directions </li></ul><ul><li>To make the sugar scrub, combine the sugar and sweet almond oil in a large bowl and stir well to combine. </li></ul><ul><li>Add the lemon juice and stir again. </li></ul><ul><li>Finally, add the honey and lemon essential oil and stir again to mix.  </li></ul>
