  • 1. Aim: How do we talk about prehistoric people? Do Now: Get out your vocabulary cards and make a card for the following vocabulary words. Permanent tents herd domesticate livestock warriors primitive Surplus Weapons equality

    • Does not change. Something that is forever.
    • “This is now your permanent seat,” the teacher told the student.
  • 3. weapons
    • Things that we use to fight
    The students are not allowed to bring weapons to school.
  • 4. equality
    • When two things are the same
    Is there equality between men and women in this country?
  • 5. Tents
    • A small place to sleep usually made out of cloth.
    When we go camping, we sleep in tents.
  • 6. Herd
    • A group of animals together.
    Cows travel in a herd .
  • 7. domesticate
    • To make into something that can live inside a house. Example: some animals
    Dogs are domesticated , they are trained to live inside a house.
  • 8. livestock
    • Animals on a farm
    Cows, chicken, and pigs are examples of livestock .
  • 9. warriors
    • A fighter, someone who fights
    The warrior in Greece won many wars.
  • 10. Primitive
    • Early history
    People in primitive times did not know how to read and write.
  • 11. surplus
    • A lot of something, more than what you need.
    There is a surplus of people in China.
