RESEARCH: Digipack DeconstructionsJamie T – Panic Prevention
Jamie T – Panic PreventionJamie T’s album cover is verymuch expressing to the audiencethat he is a singer songwriter. Forhis album he has used a dualcase, the front of this displays aphotograph of him sitting in a roomsurrounded by albums, records, instruments, speakers and thingsrelated to music and other artist. The use of putting a keyboard andguitar in the room tells theaudience that he a solo artist, thisis because these instruments arerecognised to be associated withsinger/songwriters.
The mess in the roomshows a visual referenceand link between the lyricsof the tracks on the album. Here Jamie T sings aboutmoney, alcohol, recklesslife and music. This hasbeen suggested in thephoto. The colours of this artworkare varied, but have beenphotographed andpresented in a dull andalmost old fashioned way. This connotes a link to atiredness about the life thathe sings about of thisalbum.
The back of the album shows a black background with an image ofseveral medals. Above is the track listings which have beenpresented in the same way that Johnny Cash’s did his.
Inside T’s album the photograph which was on the front is repeatedinside, however Jamie T who was playing the guitar is no longer inthe photo. The CD itself is very like many other singer/songwriter CD’s I havelooked at. Its is a very basic colour with only the album title. The booklet inside the case contains images which relate to thelyrics, the lyrics of this album often talk about alcohol and suggest areckless life. This is shown in the photographs inside.
