    5. Biography
      • She was born in Bermersheim Germany in 1098
      • She died at Disibodenberg Germany in 1179 on September 17.
      • She was born in a wealthy family and was sent away at the age of 8 to be a nun. She was given in to the care of an abbess at a convent.

      • She had little education and was trained to be a religious child.
      • When her mentor Jutta died she took her place as abbess on the convent.
      • She had many visions

    7. The Challenges She Faced
      • • Hildegard had many physical challenges including severe migraine headaches.
      • •  Hildegard was said to experience many “fiery” visions which probably were caused by her migraines.

      • • Hildegard also had a lack of education.This must have made it hard for Hildegard to express her opinions into her writings.

      • • Being a woman in the medieval times was a big challenge in itself. Women did not have many privileges or rights and lacked education.

      • Unlike most women, Hildegard traveled a lot
      • She wrote many books on medicine and natural science
      • She composed many religious songs

      • •  Most medieval women didn’t have the money or the ability to receive a good education.
      • •  Having such little rights and education, a big part of Medieval woman’s life was religion.
