Senate Flash Cards For the 111 th US Congress
Welcome to Senate Flash Cards! Part 1
Do you have trouble remembering which Senator Nelson hails from the Sunshine State (FL), and which represents the Cornhuskers (NE)? Then these flash cards are for you!
These cards are designed to be used on the SlideShare website (Facebook and iPhone Apps available), or in PowerPoint itself. A printable version (with 6 cards per sheet) is coming soon.
Once you’ve mastered these cards going front-to-back, try reversing the order (and naming the Senator based on their Party/State/Reelection Year)!
Welcome to Senate Flash Cards! Part 2
Cards are in order of Senate Seniority – this was done to add an element of randomness to the order (flashcards sorted by state or name would be too easy).
All Senator data except Rank was collected at www.Senate.gov ; Seniority data is from Wikipedia. Of course, if you see a mistake, please email me and it will be fixed immediately.
Seniority ranking (#1-100) has been done with the assumption that Al Franken (D-MN) will eventually be declared winner of his Senate race – however, to avoid hubris his card (#100) has been left empty.
Welcome to Senate Flash Cards! Part 3
Please send me any feedback you have on these flashcards. I hope you enjoy this resource and continue learning about this important Chamber of Congress!
