  • 1. How do people use deserts?
    By Robert Mee
  • 2. The Dakar Rally
The Dakar rally is an annual race
Which starts in Paris in France to Dakar in Senegal over a desert.
There are 3 types of race, Moto class, Car class and Truck class.
It was created in 1978and is still a big desert money maker to this day
  • 3. Desert Farming
Water is hard to find in the desert but underground reservoirs run out quick so lots of water has to be sent into the desert to water the plants but the sun and heat is very intense for the plant to help photosynthesis.
Some people prefer to farm in the desert as its sometimes cheaper and there’s always sun and heat all year round.
  • 4. Cities in the desert
Cities in the desert such as Dubai are amazing with massive buildings and man-made islands, they attract many tourists and bring lots of money to the places, many towns and smaller cities maybe be poor or not as spectacular but places like Dubai attract lots of attention
  • 5. Solar Power Farms
As there is a great amount of sunshine all through the year in the desert so it is a good and debated idea.
Its is said that a solar power farm the size of England could supply all of Europe with electricity but it would cost a lot of money to make.
Solar power is cheap and reusable.
