  • 3. “Do you love me, Mother?’’ Ighty
    asked, one night.
    “Of course, Son!’’ Mother answered.
    “How much do you love me?” he asked
    back.
    “One hundred, thousand, million,
    billion, trillion, quintillion…”said Mother,
    catching her breath.
    “How much is that, Mother? Is your
    love for me as many as the shapes as the
    shapes as I can draw?”

  • 5. Mother answered, “More than those!”
    “Is your love for me as many as the colors I know?”
    Ighty asked once more.
  • 6.
  • 7. “More than those!” Mother exclaimed.
    Then Ighty asked, “Is your love for me as many as the numbers I can count and write?”

  • 10. “More than those!” Mother repeated.
    Finally, Ighty asked, “Is your love for me as the letters of the alphabet I can recite?”

  • 15. “More than those!” Mother replied.
    Ighty, very tired now, asked, “Why do you always say, ‘More than those’?”
    Mother answered, “Ighty, I love you so much that only Jesus can count my love for you!”
    “When I go to heaven, Mother, I will ask Jesus to count your love for me,” said Ighty smiling.
    Misty-eyed, Mother hugged and kissed him good night.
