  2. 2. D RIVING ON C AMPUS When driving on campus, always remember…  Drive slowly (10 mph speed limit)  Watch for pedestrians  No cell phones/texting/distractions  Keep carline moving  If you need to stop to have a conversation, please park your car in an available parking space.

A RRIVAL Y OUR CHILD ’ S SAFETY IS IMPORTANT TO US ! Starting at 7:30 a.m., enter on Hermosa Avenue at the Hidden Oaks driveway. If your child arrives more than 15 minutes before his/her scheduled class time, you are required to walk them to day care and sign them in. Otherwise, drop them off at carline in the upper parking lot. Pre-School parents must park, walk their students to class, and sign in the drop-off/pick-up book. Failure to sign your child in (and out) will result in a $25 charge. Drop off only in the authorized area!

D ISMISSAL Follow the same procedures as arrival for carline. Students in grades 1-8 will wait in the upper lot for pick-up; pre-school and kindergarten students must be picked up at the classroom. Preschool students must be signed out. Preschool and Kindergarten dismissal is from 2:30-2:45. Carline Pick-up Times  1st -3rd: 2:30-2:45 p.m.  4th-8th: 2:45-3:00 p.m.

R AINY D AY A RRIVAL & D ISMISSAL P ROCEDURESArrival Dismissal 4th-8th students will be sent  If it is raining, we are to their classroom starting following rainy day at 7:45 a.m. procedures. 3rd grade and younger  Park and pick up your child students will go to their at the classroom. classroom after 8:00 a.m.  Extra parking will be available in the upper lot.

  8. 8. D RESS C ODE ALCS wears uniforms from Nunes, available on-line. Used uniforms available in the school office. All shirts must have the ALCS logo. Other clothing items may be purchased from Nunes or other retail stores. Jackets and sweatshirts may be navy blue or white. Jackets must be navy. Please put your child’s name on the tag! Read through the dress code in the parent handbook on our website, There is a $25 charge for every third dress code violation.

G ETTING I NVOLVED Room Parent Coordinator Mrs. Laura Jedlick,, meeting Wednesday 8/22 immediately after chapel @ 9:00 and at 6:15 p.m. Volunteers are needed on the playground, in the office, in the classroom. Please return the yellow parent involvement survey that was in your summer packet. Also, check with your classroom teacher to see if they need help. Walkathon planning meeting coming soon!
  10. 10. S CRIP Available each week for purchase in the office. Orders are entered on Monday and pick up is Friday. Scrip benefits our school in great ways! This is part of our budgeted income and supports school operations. Forms are in the office; check out our lengthy list of participating stores. Special Scrip promotion begins next week. Classrooms can earn Target giftcards!

PARENT P RAYER T EAM Thursdays at 8:20 a.m. in the Bride’s Room which is to the left of the Sanctuary This is for all parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. Everyone is welcome to come pray for our staff, students, families, and school. Submit prayer requests to the office (with a name or anonymously). We DO pray for each one!

M ATTHEW 18 P RINCIPLE Please read the detailed explanation in the parent handbook. The focus is always on solving our problems TOGETHER! Handle conflict in just a few steps…  Meet with the person alone  If you can’t solve it together, meet with one or two other people.  If you still can’t resolve the issue, bring it to the leadership team.
  13. 13. C HAPEL All School Chapel (usually the first Wednesday of every month) – 8:20-9:15 a.m. PK-3rd Chapel – 8:20-8:50 a.m. 4th-8th Chapel – 9:30-10:10 a.m. You are invited to attend all of our chapels! Please be sure to sign in and get a visitor’s badge at the office as usual!

C ATERTOTS L UNCHES Set up your account at School id ALTA 73 All lunches are pre-ordered. On-line orders or changes are due by 9:00am one day prior to service and paper orders are due three business days prior to service. The cost per meal is $4.25 for a Junior Portion and $5.00 for a Regular Portion.
